Happy Birthday to Me!!

I think this is the first year that I'm not bummed out about working on my birthday. I'm just so freakin' excited about my roadtrip tonight! My parents have the digital camera so I'll have to take crappy old school film pictures on my way there and digital pics while I'm at the cabin.

So I went for dinner last night. It was nice. I got a gift certificate to get my feet done. I'll use it when I get back. I ordered dessert (which I never do), and yikes, my cheesecakes do kick ass!! I could have made a cheesecake that is twice as good as that! I used to be the baker at 'The Cheesecake Cafe' which to my knowledge, no longer exists. We'd sell a whole cake for $50 and a slice for about $6. Which was definately worth the money!

Hmmm, I could turn my love for baking into a business. Sell cakes to restaurants. Back to reality....one business at a time. I truly believe I'll be one of those people with 2 businesses running at the same time. A weight loss company on one hand and a baking business on the other. Ha ha. How twisted!!

Anyways...my ex (maybe we'll call him 'T') and I went back to my parents house and I helped him download some tunes for his truck. I think he left at about 10:30pm. I figured we would eat and he would leave which I was kind of dreading, I didn't want to be by myself. So I was pleased that 'T' stayed.

I suppose I should go and accomplish a few things around here so time flies by! Yay!!
See you on the 5th!! xoxo

Almost September

Where has the summer gone? I worked it away with just opening my store June 19th. September is days away. Today is my auntie's birthday. Tomorrow is my birthday. September 1st is my mom's birthday. I really wanted my daughter to be born September 2nd but it wasn't meant to be. She was due September 25th and waited until October 8th.

It's a rainy day. I like days like this. Every once in awhile you just have to have a overcast day. Heat makes you tired. I'd like to curl up in a window seat with a warm cup of tea, a fuzzy blanket and a good book.

I'm going out for dinner tonight with a friend (actually, an ex-boyfriend) to celebrate my birthday. I'd really like to go out and celebrate on my actual birthday but I'll need some zzz's tomorrow before I hit the road to head to the cabin. I'm sooooooooo excited! I got an oil change done on my SUV this morning. I cleaned it on Monday morning. I downloaded a whole crapload of music so I can have some new tunes! Woohoo!! It'll be a party on the highway...alone!

Make sure you do some shopping. You know, it's almost that time of year. See...

...I'm off to finish my day!

Martha Stewart I am not!

What I would do to jump inside these pictures! I really like blue & white. It's crisp, clean & feels like home. Or blue, white & beige. My favorite magazine has got to be Style At Home. Ever heard of Colorstrology? It's an interesting site. I'm not really sure if I particularly *like* my color but they say it calms me. Maybe when I get my own place I'll try and paint that color somewhere....like in the storage room. ha ha! And just like the title says, I am not a Martha Stewart but I wish I was. Unfortunately, she walked all over her family to get where she is today. I don't want her fame or her money. I just want talent like that. A cross between Martha Stewart and Mary Poppins would be kinda cool. Maybe someday.

I found this too. Did you know that what you want in a dream home may depend on when you were born? Find out more. I'm right in the middle of Generation X and Generation Y. I found it interesting about my family too. My parents who were baby boomers had one child born in Gen-X (my bro) and one child born in Gen-Y (me). We're a mixed family....or a mixed up family? This is my top 5 list:
1) State-of-the-art kitchen
2) Gym/Fitness Room
3) Walk In Closets
4) Patios, Porches & Decks
5) Whirlpool Bath
And like a true Generation Y child I love color! And of course, I need a home office! I suppose I should go and do something productive. Or think about what I'm going to write about tomorrow...

My Princess

This is my princess.
I'd be lost without her.
She likes anything to do with Disney Princesses. She's starting to like her baby dolls now and wanting a sibling (not right now!). When asked if she'd like a baby brother or sister she says, "Both!" Don't let the cute face fool you though. She has a wicked attitude. Her list of boyfriends is always changing and growing! I definately give the girl credit, she can wrap those boys around her finger. Last but not least, she'll be the only princess playing baseball. It's sad, my 4 (almost) year old daughter throws a ball and I duck!

My mom, dad, my bro & Emily are all leaving me Sunday morning. I'll be alone and hating it. They're driving out to our cabin (which is a 10 hour drive away) to spend a week there. Thursday night (my b-day), I'll come home from work and sleep for a few hours then I'll hit the road and drive all night to be out there with them for a few days (only Friday to Monday). Next year I plan on taking 2 weeks and relaxing out there. This year I don't have the staff to go for a whole week. I'll post pictures, it's absolutely beautiful out there!!

I don't have a whole lot to post about today. It's Friday (even though the date says it's Thursday, I started this post on Thursday and finished it today), I have to work tomorrow. Might go into the city on Sunday to do some shopping...childless! wow!

P.S. - Thanks Brandy for taking this picture!

A New Journey...

Do I really think that I have a life interesting enough to fill one of these? I guess so.

I own 2 locations of a weight loss company. I struggle with my own weight, I know where my clients are coming from. I also don't want my own daughter to struggle. I'm getting fit in my 20's. I'm starting to add strength training into my cardio routine. I'll start with the ball then gradually introduce free weights. I'd like to get into weight lifting more seriously but it will play games with my weight on the scale. We'll wait.

I have a beautiful 4 year old daughter, Emily. She'll be starting pre-school this fall. I also enrolled her in swimming lessons, not like she really needs it, she's been in swimming pools since she was 4 months old.

Oh yes, did I mention I'm single? ...!! I'd really like to find someone but I'm not about to settle, I could really make someone miserable if I did that. So yes, I have a lame ass profile on singleparentsmingle as well as match (which is getting me nowhere!). I gave up on lavalife. I've considered eharmony but that scares me (maybe I'm really not that serious about finding someone?).

Enough rambling for today...maybe I'll figure out how to post pictures and make this into a huge photo album.
